My human was busy working most of the day, so we picked a trail close to home for one final adventure of the year. And what a good choice it was! Red Rocks Trading Post Trail isn’t just a fun and scenic hike—it’s also a sentimental favorite for my pack. It was the very first hike we did together after my adoption, so returning here always feels special.
Trail Overview
Distance: 2 miles
Ascent: 525 feet
Trail Type: Loop
Dog Rules: Dogs must be on leash
Cost: Free
Trail Conditions: As of 12/31/24, clear and mud free
Why You’ll Love It
Perfect for Winter: This trail can be toasty in the summer, but winter is just right—unless it’s muddy!
Stunning Views: Towering red rock formations and sweeping city views make this a feast for the eyes.
Easy to Explore: We like to start at the Trading Post and hike up to the amphitheater before looping back down, but there’s no wrong way to explore Red Rocks!
Snow’s Take
Paws down, this trail is a must-do! Whether it’s your first time or a classic in your rotation, I highly recommend checking it out. Just be ready for lots of sniffs, breathtaking views, and maybe even a post-hike nap.
Happy trails, fur-iends!
