Interpretive signs along the way share more about the ancient forest that once stood here, making this trail as educational as it is beautiful.

Because it’s less than a mile, the loop is accessible for most hikers and perfect for a quick stop while exploring the park.

Snow's Take

I loved this trail because it felt like walking through a glittering forest frozen in time. The petrified logs were huge, colorful, and oh-so-sparkly in the desert sun. For pups like me, it’s a quick but fascinating stroll—just remember, no chewing on these logs!
